为进入自拍电影市场———
本周四，索尼影视娱乐有限公司以6500万美元的价格收购了一家影音交流网站GrouperNetworks，此举为其进入迅速壮大的自拍电影市场谋得了许可证。同时，索尼还透露公司将会在日后通过Grouper的网站出售其电影和电视作品，不过目前还不急于行动。
随着广告业将其视线从传统媒体转移至新兴的网络市场，各大媒体公司都在探索新的获利方式。事实上，包括索尼在内的各大媒体公司都已开始在各类网站上推出业余爱好者的自拍短片。索尼影视的主席兼 CEO Michael Lynton 对外界说道：“消费者正在Grouper之类的网站上花费越来越多的时间，我们作为世界最大的娱乐公司之一，将会追随观众至每一个角落。”
至于被收购的Grouper公司，索尼称其仍会以独立的形式存在，其管理层也将被保留。Lynton表示公司认为Grouper将成长为一个依靠广告实现盈利的独立部门。不过，为了增强Grouper的盈利能力，寻找新的亮点已成了公司的当务之急。
据悉，Grouper公司除了接受用户上传的短片外，还向用户提供一些必要的软件，以便用户将自己的短片放置到诸如MySpace之类的社交或网站上。顺便一提的是，这些软件还允许用户以电子邮件发送短片或是将其下载至便携设备上。而此番收购Grouper的索尼影音正是这一领域的执牛耳者，早在2001年时索尼就在一项名为“Screenblast”的娱乐计划中推出了自己的影音开发工具，该系统允许用户将索尼公司的电影和音乐组合成新的片段。
